An Irish-American Celtic punk band from Massachusetts, Dropkick Murphys put on one hell of a show.
I love Irish-style rock and punk. There’s something very boisterous and rambunctious about it. Flogging Molly have been a favourite of mine for years, but I hadn’t discovered Dropkick Murphys until this show. Needless to say, I had a great time — despite being in a horde of more photographers than I’d previously seen at a gig. I think I bopped someone with my camera, but I know I received more hits than I dished out. All in good fun, however!
Interestingly, it seems that only bassist Ken Casey has been with the band since its inception in 1996, with other band members coming and going since that time.
The No Sleep Til Sydney festival also featured Katatonia, NOFX, Frenzal Rhomb, and Atreyu.
